When should I visit?
Rosehill is open all year, so when should you visit? From sunbathing in August to storm watching in January, Cornwall has something to offer at any time of year.
Summer
At the height of summer, Cornwall could be mistaken for the Mediterranean: sun-soaked beaches, palm trees and a real vibrant holiday mood.
If you're a sun-worshipper, July and August are certainly the best times to visit, as the weather is at its best. Porthtowan's long, sandy beach is only a short five minute walk from your lodge. If you get sandy, don't worry – all our lodges come with an external heated shower, so you can wash it all off. You can then relax in your own personal Hot Tub Spa.
Not all beaches and sunscreen
Of course, there's a lot more to a Cornish summer than sun bathing. Why not take advantage of the fine weather to explore the coastal path next to the spectacular Atlantic Ocean, visit some of the historic fishing villages or enjoy one of the many and varied tourist attractions?
In fact, Cornwall's tourist attractions have an international reputation. From the Eden Project, with its distinctive, bubbled domes to the mining sites of the north coast, now a world heritage site, or the Tate St. Ives. Cornwall has a host of world-class attractions to suite all tastes.
Your children will love Porthtowan's beach but there are many theme parks, zoos, animal sanctuaries and attractions that will also appeal. Rosehill is conveniently located to ensure easy access to all of Cornwall's delights.
Summer at Rosehill
With one of Cornwall's most spectacular beaches just a short, flat walk away, Rosehill is an ideal place to spend your summer holiday. Catch a bus to nearby St Agnes or Truro or take a short drive to one of the hundreds of local tourist attractions. Or why not enjoy the long evenings sitting in your own personal Hot Tub, or light up the barbecue and enjoy the last rays of sunshine?
Autumn
Autumn in Cornwall is great time to visit. The climate is still warm, beaches are deserted and you get a real feeling of space.
With leaves turning red, a visit to one of Cornwall's great gardens is a must. Some of the best include Trevarno, Trebah, Trengwainton and Heligan.
Autumn at Rosehill
Rosehill is set in a truly beautiful wooded valley. Come autumn, the leaves are turning a dozen shades of reddy brown, while the animals and birds are making provisions for the winter ahead.

Winter
Cornwall in the winter is a very different experience from the lazy days of summer. Dramatic landscapes embraced by stormy weather, towering waves, seaspray and fields laced in mist. Light the log burner, wrap up warm, go see the awesome power of the Atlantic Ocean and taste and feel the salt seaspray on your face.
Winters in Cornwall are generally mild and a white Christmas is rare. The beaches are now desolate, making for relaxing walks. If you feel like stretching your legs, take a walk along the South West Coast Path. Take in the views of the dramatic Atlantic coastline. Follow this with a great lunch in a beach restaurant. What a great way to while away your time and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.
The best surfing waves are found in autumn, winter and spring. Porthtowan has two excellent surf shops (Tris surf shop on the beach and Sick Lame and Lazy located in the village) who will be happy to hire surfing equipment to you.
Stormwatching
Nothing separates the north coast of Cornwall from North America except 3000 miles of windswept ocean. Come winter, the north Atlantic storms batter and bruise the Cornish coast with high winds and powerful waves.
Though the locals have enjoyed the spectacular storms for generations, it's only in recent years that holiday makers have started to flock to Cornwall to enjoy the winter storms.
You may choose to watch the ocean from the comfort of your local beach restaurant or pub. The more adventurous may choose to climb up to a cliff top or the coastal path. Either way, you will experience the awesome power of the wind and see the mountainous waves crashing against the rocks or over a harbour wall.
With the town of Porthtowan and its beach just moments away, Rosehill is the ideal place to watch the winter storms. At the end of the day sit back in the warm comfort of your own lodge and relax as the nights draw in watching the flames dancing in the log burner.
Spring
By early March, nature starts recovering from its long winter slumber and life is starting to literally spring from the ground. There's nowhere better to enjoy this time of year than an area, like Cornwall, where nature is on your doorstep.
Spring is a wonderful time to visit the great gardens of Cornwall, such as Heligan, Trevarno, Trebah, Trengwainton and of course, the Eden Project.
