Press Release – Beauty Kubes, an amazing new luxury product launches at Rosehill Lodges. A first for the industry and brilliant for Plastic Free Coastlines.
Millions of tiny plastic bottles filled with scented shampoos, shower gels and body lotion are thrown away every single day in hotels across the globe.
A Cornish firm can now offer a plastic-free alternative to this contributor to plastic pollution.
Small, single use shampoo and body wash cubes packaged in cardboard have been created by Cornish company Eve of St. Agnes under the brand name ‘Beauty Kubes’.
A five-star luxury self-catering business owner in Porthtowan, Cornwall quickly saw the potential of this product to help offer her guests a truly luxurious experience coupled with achieving her goal of attaining plastic free accreditation. With sustainability and eco-tourism credentials and numerous awards under their belt, Rosehill 5 Star Eco Lodges have endeavoured to go above and beyond to ensure their business is as sustainable as possible.
After joining a committee to help local businesses become plastic free as part of the Plastic Free Coastlines initiative by Surfers Against Sewage, Rosehill Lodges owner, Pauline Barrow started to research alternatives to the small plastic toiletries that she had been using as part of her welcome pack to guests in her lodges.
Pauline met with Beauty Kubes founders Emma Heywood and Morten Pedersen and they worked together to come up with a range of small amenity sized toiletries that were 100% plastic free. Beauty Kubes have gained a cult following since their launch in February, achieving 5 star feedback with some users describing them as ‘The holy grail of haircare.’ Beauty Kubes were described by U.S analyst firm Mintel as in the ‘Top ten coolest beauty innovations’.
Rosehill Lodges owner Pauline had this to say: “We are absolutely delighted to be the very first self-catering holiday destination in the UK to be offering our guests the Beauty Kube range of products as complimentary. Our mission as a holiday business has always been to ensure that a luxury experience and green sustainability can compliment each other living side by side for the benefit of our environment. The Beauty Kube product is world class, is amazing, and will provide our guests with a new experience with no harm to our environment. Emma and Morten should be congratulated on bringing this product to market – well done.”
Beauty Kubes founders Emma and Morten attribute part of their inspiration behind their ground-breaking product to the incredible drive and passion shown by Cornish businesses and the general public in the goal to make Cornwall a plastic free county. Founder Emma Heywood said; “We wanted to create a shampoo that didn’t have to be packaged in plastic yet was single-use and could therefore be used by the hospitality industry. The thought of all the millions of small plastic toiletry bottles across the world was an uncomfortable one and we have worked hard to create an alternative. As I personally use all the products I create, they had to perform exceptionally well and have as little negative impact on the environment as possible. Meeting Pauline was instrumental in helping to see this come to fruition.”
Pauline and Rosehill Lodges have become the first accommodation provider to offer Beauty Kubes plastic free toiletries in the Country; this has helped Rosehill to achieve plastic free accreditation which enhances still further their mission of combining luxury with sustainability to offer their guests a truly unique holiday experience.
Beauty Kubes are looking forward to helping other hospitality businesses go completely plastic free.
