Wheal Sparrow: Pretty 2 Bedroom Grass Roofed Lodge, Cornwall

With Eco-elegance Wheal Sparrow is a delightful grass roofed eco lodge built with love and care by a superbly skilled bunch of cabinet makers here in our local village of Porthtowan. Built with timber sourced from sustainable woodland here in Cornwall, Sparrow is a 5 star luxury lodge and has also achieved the Gold Award under VisitEngland’s assessment criteria.

The grass roof ensures the lodge is warm in winter and cool in summer. Access to Sparrow is via a level pathway onto the main decking area or via steps onto the porch decking area. It has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to four people.

The beds can be configured to suit your particular requirements.  All rooms within the lodge are on the level. The fully equipped kitchen has a full size fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

The lounge area leads onto the main decking area which has a full size, four person hot tub. This is all under glass, allowing you to enjoy the tub and dine al-fresco whatever the weather. This decking area faces directly on to your garden which has lots of trees and shrubs planted all around to ensure a high degree of privacy. Sparrow has its own corner spot.

The woodland that surrounds Sparrow is a real haven for wildlife. Also provided is a charcoal BBQ for those warm summer evenings. The side decking area is also covered in glass and has an external heated drench shower which is ideal for washing the sand and salt off at the end of the day. This decking area, like all our timber lodges has an outside cupboard, ideal for storing all your equipment such as wet suits and surfboards, body boards etc.

We provide buckets and spades for your use which can be found in this cupboard along with firelighters and kindling for the log burner for those cosy winter nights. Like all our lodges Wheal Sparrow is only about 5 to 10 minutes walk to the centre of the village and Porthtowan’s amazing Blue Flag beach.
